Beautiful spot for a day hike. Pack a bag of snacks and take your times exploring all the trails. The owner is happy to chat to you about the different routes and will advise you regarding difficulty. Always looking for pet friendly places to hike and this was beautiful. Some trails are tough and I would advise those to be hiked earlier in the day. Safety: Area is off the main road tucked in the rolling hills. Safety wasn't a concern. Walkability: Trails are beautiful and not too busy. Some routes were tougher climbs but worth it for the view. Trails are also neat sometimes a bit narrow and easy enough to navigate for the most part!
I enjoyed the trail. I just wish they can add more trails and connect the mountains and hills. It’s a beautiful trail and it moderate to challenging depending on your fitness. I suggested that they have a camping place by the river its so beautiful
We did the hiking, fun as always, but the bushes needs to be cut bavk a bit.
Nice hiking place, just short staffed with friendly stuff. The trails have potential, as is they are confusing and segmented. Its a challenging trail, rocky and sometimes dense. You go, up and down the mountain, rarely around...which i enjoyed. Should they restructure their trails, the place can be gem.
Also a lovely hiking spot. You need to combine the marked trails to get good mileage 15kms+. Enquire at the reception if you need guidance. The suikerbos river bend provides a breath taking view! All worth it!Location: 5/5
What a beautiful, misty morning spent at Tuin Van Eden The trails have mountains, valleys, river and bush. The trails have the most beautiful views of the Suikerbosrand River and as long as your dogs are well behaved with good recall certain sections are suitable for some off the leash hiking. We started on the T1 trails about 5km which involved some climbing and is suitable for an experienced hiker. This specific trail had some beautiful views. We enjoyed this so much we decided to keep going. Once we completed this we did the popular trail 5kms which takes you to a viewing point and then down to the river and through the ruins. By combining these routes we did roughly 10kms. This hike is on private property and we felt very safe here. This is a wedding venue with accommodation on site. Other activities include 4x4 and mountain biking. The guys at reception were very friendly and helpful. I left my car lights on which drained my battery. They were happy to assist me to jumpstart the car. We loved this hike and will definately be back in the summer to do it again. Two thumbs up.
Nestled between the slopes of the Suikerbosrand Valley, is the beautiful Tuin van Eden. Different hiking trails 5km - 20km give you a soul reviving experience in the rolling countryside. The viewpoints overlook the vastness of the valley, taking you down to the shaded tranquility of the river. Hiking trails go past ancient ruins and stops at the caves. The Barnyard Cafe offers relief for those in need of food & drink. Hiking trails are marked well. Didn't see any animals but the hike itself, was pretty awesome!
Very peaceful place with great hiking trails and friendly staff.
Tuin Van Eden was a lovely day out. Beautiful scenery and neat pathways. We took our dogs for a nice long walk up the hill. The view was stunning of the valley and river. Markings for pathways could be a bit more detailed. I suggest a colour map with corresponding signs and detailed spots to be found along that path. Cafeteria food was fresh. We suggest a camped off temporary gate system....so you can leave your dogs enclosed while you eat. Bathrooms clean but need some tlc. Very friendly and helpful staff. A sand road..might be very muddy if it rains alot.
Had a wonderful hike there, followed by a late lunch. The farm is compact, but the hiking routes are varied and challenging. The brush can be quite dense, and the route markers a bit confusing. But its all part of the fun.
