No entry fee is required. The upper area is well maintained. The garden is beautiful to be around. It’s a perfect place for a picnic or just “sight seeing”. The view of the city & the sunset from there are beautiful as well. There are a couple of photographers who will want to take pictures of you, but they won’t harass you. There are also a couple of homeless people/beggars who will ask for your food. There aren’t many security guards so it’s advisable to come in groups, always beware of your surroundings and stay safe.
Beautiful place to visit with a stunning view of parts of Pretoria. It's easily accessible from different directions. The gardens are well maintained. But wow, the toilets stink. I hope they've improved since the last time. It's a shock to be surrounded by so much beauty and history, and get hit by the smell of dirty toilets. It's a disgrace. There's such a nice vibe here and for a moment you feel part of history as your eyes drink in those beautiful surroundings and the massive statue of Madiba. I love going there.
The top upper part of union buildings is okay and clean. But as you go lower you'll see squatter camps and litter at the far bottom. It is a nice place to take pictures. And safe.. but only at night
I visited the Union Building in Pretoria, my God it was extremely and extraordinary beautiful. Don't you leave South Africa without visiting UB, it's mind blowing and the environment and freedom to move around cannot be explained.
Great place for a stroll in the garden and enjoy some awesome views of government offices. Lot of parking available but can fill up on holidays
Flash looking building with nice terraced gardens and a huge statue of Mr Mandela. Only downside is they won’t let you in for a look inside.
Well maintained and clean. Great for pick nicks and camping and temporary housing arrangement if needed. Close to other touristic attractions like the Voortrekker meuseum and the science meuseum.
It was so beautiful and peaceful It's the most cleanest place I've ever been, Beautiful
2 entrances Free entrance Free parking Lots of beautiful backgrounds for your pictures There are photographers who charge R20 per pic and often offer you one free of charge Beware of your surrounding if coming in or leaving through the park.

The garden host different memorial plaques, statues, including that of the iconic Nelson Mandela. The gardens are frequented by admirers and tourists all the time, as Union Buildings are a historical site, marking the Union of South Africa in 1910, though the building was completed in 1913. It is now housing adminstration for the government of South Africa. A vantage view from this site shows the layout of the beautiful city of Pretoria.
