I recently had an incredibly frustrating encounter with the receptionist at Vista Psychiatric Hospital. I cannot emphasize enough how unfriendly and unhelpful this individual was, displaying a complete lack of basic customer service skills and empathy. It is truly disheartening to encounter such unprofessional behavior, especially in a healthcare setting.  First and foremost, the receptionist failed to provide proper directions to the doctor's office. When my companions and I walked into the hospital and politely asked for assistance in locating the doctor's office, the receptionist responded with a dreadful attitude. It was clear that they had no interest in helping us, and their response was both dismissive and condescending. Instead of providing clear instructions or offering any kind of guidance, they simply brushed us off, leaving us confused and frustrated.  Moreover, the receptionist's demeanor throughout the entire interaction was appalling. Their lack of courtesy and respect was evident from the moment we approached the desk. It is astonishing that someone in a customer-facing role at a healthcare facility could be so cold, unapproachable, and detached. Dealing with individuals seeking psychiatric care requires a certain level of compassion and understanding, which this receptionist clearly lacked.  In addition to their general demeanor, the receptionist seemed completely oblivious to the importance of their role in providing a welcoming and supportive environment. Instead, they appeared more interested in asserting their authority and making visitors feel unwelcome. It is disappointing to encounter such a lack of basic interpersonal skills, especially when individuals seeking psychiatric help are already vulnerable and in need of comfort.  Overall, my experience with the receptionist at Vista Psychiatric Hospital was deeply disheartening. Their unfriendly attitude, lack of helpfulness, and complete disregard for customer service and empathy were truly shocking. It is my hope that the management of the hospital takes these issues seriously and addresses them promptly. Patients seeking psychiatric care deserve to be treated with compassion, dignity, and respect from the very first point of contact, and unfortunately, that was sorely lacking during my visit.

It's 12:35pm on a Wednesday 28 June and I've just walked into the building approaching reception and I hear this one white lady yelling at the receptionist and the workers there who were speaking amongst themselves to address each other in English. She literally shouted, "ENGLISH PLEASE!!!" I mean, what in the South Africa is this???? Why are the workers there subject towards such madness. Sies.

First and foremost, receptionist are the face of any company. They should have the relevant knowledge about empathy and remorse.  I visited the hospital yesterday, and was faced with a difficult receptionist, asking me questions as if I am aware of the hospital rules. I am disgusted in the way I was treated. I will not be visiting or even recommend Vista based on 1 single experience.  Please upskill, and train your staff to show respect and educate people on policies and procedures, and not assume people understand.

For me I had tge mist horrible experience. I was so excited to ve there but I was not treated well by the  day stuff mostly. I am coping by the grace of God. I had high hopes fir the clinic to help but all just felt flat

This place has given me and my family hope. The receptionists are so welcoming and assuring, infact from the receptionist to the cleaners. I took my mother in yesterday and i felt at home and comfortable leaving her there, even the admission process is not a daunting task.They take you through everything and do most of the admin to assist with the process. We came in abit late but they still assisted with a smile. There I felt hopeful leaving my mother under their care.

I just have to take this time to give credit where its due... A big shout out to the FOLLOWING nurses from Azalea Ward, Betty, Precious, Bonolo and Nthabiseng... These four women really care for their patients.. I've been in very good hands and I trust who ever follows will share the same sentiments...

My experience at Vista was very unpleasant.  Service was poor all round except for the food. Food was amazing. I feel the staff was not trained enough to handle people with a mental illness.  There was not enough guidance as to how to guide patience through this horrible jouney.

My partner was there for 3 weeks. The food is disgusting. Roast chuck samp and marogho. He fell in the bathroom and had to crawl to his bed as nobody came to his rescue. Very unhelpful staff. We were never told cafeteria closed down so a certain very rude receptionist refused to except a take away for him. She raised her voice to me in such a manner that I ended conversation.  Very expensive 3 weeks living of take aways and Checkers 60/60.

Had my brother there for 2 weeks and the treatment was amazing, thank you guys for helping us, recovery was fast due to to everyone’s love there. I had the best service during the admission process and had peace of mind leaving him there in capable hands. Thank you Vista!

I personally had a great experience, i dealt with almost all the challenges i was facing in my life, with the assistance of Dr Mazibuko And Naline Rughnoo. The nurses and receptionist in our ward were loving and caring, food wasn't the best but that was the least of my worries, we formed a very wonderful bond with other patients and had prayer sessions as well as game sessions.  For someone going through depression or anxiety or any related mental issues, I'd recommend that you give vista a try
