Yesterday, the ambulance brought my mother in at 10H10 for a motor vehicle accident. At around 13H00, she was still waiting for an MRI. After she got the MRI, she waited till around 17H50 to get a room. When they got her to the ward, the matron said, "Oh, i wasn't expecting a patient." Half of the lifts in this Bloody hospital doesn't work, This is absolutely ridiculous. Never had these problems at any other hospital, it's more like a government facility, but you have to pay ridiculous amounts of money for bad management. 1 thing i can say is that the staff is extremely friendly and diligent its just a shame they have to work under a bad governing body and management. And another thing. There is no porter to take my mother from another floor to the groud floor. She has to according to staff let a family member fetch a wheelchair and then go down with a drip on her own. The hospital only cares about lining their pockets and the staff have to struggle and make due with what their given.
WOW wow wow. What a awesome hospital. Employees in 1E are the best day and night and theatre. Compassionate, caring, the way in which even the employees treat each other with respect and friendliness. Wow job well done to the management team in creating such a awesome organisational culture. To 1E you helped my son so much today, thank you.
What a fantastic experience! From the moment we booked in at reception all the way through our 3 day long visit, everyone has been so friendly and kind. Nurse Nancy and the whole team from ward 1B even the cleaning ladies! are an asset to this hospital. We felt welcome and cared for the whole time. Each and every one of the ladies here including the Servest security lady at the access controlled door are passionate about what they do, and it shows! Well done!
Great experience in the hospital. Was in and out fairly quickly. Staff didn't get my name right and would say things like "sleep now". But as I try to, staff start running in and out of the rooms, slamming doors and equipment, making excessive noise and shouting at one another to communicate. At 3am. Besides the horribly inconsiderate staff, it wasn't as bad as everyone seems to make it. Exception/rule with bad experiences.
Avoid this “hospital”. The building has not been maintained. There is trash lying around. The cafeteria’s roof is leaking. The elevator does not work. Some doctors seem to be ok, the nurses act like they doing you a favor when you ask them anything. Rather go to Midstream where it is clean and updated.
Very poor nursing. Can't look after drips. Let drip ends lie on floor. Asked for a "monkey chain" to help move, 24 hrs and waiting. Staff friendly but utterly incompetent. Huddling their tablets like a baby and not caring for patients basic needs.
Had all three my children at this hospital. The experience with the first was exceptional with competent staff and an overall wonderful experience 2018. The second was a truly horrible experience Feb 2020, with staff not being able to perform standard procedures or show any compassion. Had my third baby 2 weeks ago and the only reason why I went back was because of my Doctors. It was such a pleasant surprise to see everything is back to the great standard it was before. Whatever you are doing please keep doing it! Thank you to all the staff at the labour, maternity and neonatal wards for their professionalism and their care!
The high care unit was great and the nurses there are very friendly and helpful, but Ward 2C is terrible. The nurses are rude, refusing to help most of the time and being extremely rude when ever a patient calls them. One nurse told my mother she is lucky she got sick at her age as she will die soon, why are nurses like this employed? I would never recommend anyone go to this hospital.
Look I have been to many many hospitals and some really do deserve their terrible reviews, however Unitas hospital does not. From emergency department all the way to ward 2 that I was admitted to. They were amazing! Yes it takes long there is waiting involved but hello there are more severe life saving cases that need immediate attention and you can wait because when they do get to you and they will get to you it's will be worth it. But the way those nurses bend over backwards for you and make you feel important and cared for. Well to them I want to say THANK YOU
Had my baby in April, the staff in Maternity ward were excellent, especially sister Veronica and sister Tumi who helped me so much with my baby. They were so kind and caring and excellent at their jobs. There was Just one nurse on the day of admission did not get her namethat did not prep me for theatre even though I had called and asked her, she just said "okay", put the bell off, walked away, and never came back. When it was time for taking me to theatre, there was another nurse who was surprised that I was not prepared for theatre, and so she so quickly did all that was needed, did not get her name as well, but she was very good at her Job. My gynecologist Dr Steytler, The Anaesthesiologist, The physiotherapist she actually helped take out my stuff from my bag the first day that I needed to get out of bed , and our pediatrician, Dr Engelbrecht, were all excellent as well.
