We came from Botswana back to Cape Town and stayed over a night at Waschbank. All I can say is Wow!!!! From the warm welcome, to the view, games room, staff, restaurant and just overall experience, we will most definitely use this as our future destination of choice. What a little hidden gem. The friendliest service, clean accommodation and beautifully decorated. Lovely supper, with very yummie Fillet steak. Thank you for the best first night stay, on our road trip to Mozam. We will be back to stay soon.
Great reception from Marissa. Beautiful location and restaurant with fireplace. Zelmari and her team are very attentive and welcoming. Fall asleep with the sounds of the river. Definitely recommend Nearby activities: Located on a game farm Food & drinks: Bar & reastaurant on site
What a wonderful place! Very neat and friendly staff. Campsite is beautiful with green grass no need for ground cover. Ablusions are clean and very nice showers. The swimmingpool looks over the Orange river. There is a set menu at the restaurant that was amazing because we came in at 18:00 and it wanted to start raining so we decide to eat at the restaurant. Food was very delicious. This place is close to Gariepdam.
As an avid traveller and one who does the Jhb-CT-Jhb route quite regularly, this is the best find yet! It's small, intimate and perfect in every way. There're only 8 units, but they sit on a massive property, so there's the opportunity to go for walks or sit by and watch the river flow, endlessly.... My double room was basic, but very tastefully and functionally furnished. I peaked into the family rooms while the cleaners were in there with their permission and they are also fantastic & extremely well-equipped. The views are unprecedented! The meal I had at the restaurant was delicious & there's a fully-stocked bar. The staff are well-trained, professional, friendly and very, very, kind. Try to arrive during daylight hours because although it's well-marked, the signs are difficult to see at night. When I couldn't find it, someone from the lodge drove out to meet me at the local garage, to guide me to the lodge! Walkability: Beautiful walks, including through the sunflowers!
Too many bugs in the place so it gets very messy in the lodge. The restaurant food was very average and over priced. The staff and the service was top rated. We felt like home. Very hospitable. River side views and a peaceful place. Great stop when passing through Colesburg.
What a surprise. We went there for the first time. And did not expect this gem. And after driving for long. They had a restaurant what surprised me. With a beautiful backdrop. Must say service was great and food delicious. This would be the new halfway mark for us. Keep it up. It was great.Service: 4/5
What a glorious setting right in the banks of the fast-flowing Orange River. Our accommodation was quaintly comfy and well-appointed, the service was superb and cheerful, generously proportioned meals and all against the backdrop of a noisy river running through it. Gorgeous overnight stop, conveniently close to the N1.Rooms: 5/5
I would like to bring to notice the sizes of the bed which they have in every room which are very small. Got very tight for a standard couple to share the bed. Rooms: They need to change their double bed sizes to at least queen size.
Waschbank is everything you need to leave the city behind and start relaxing. The staff is friendly, the food is hearty, the rooms are comfy and the views are incredible.Rooms: 5/5
