Wildnut

Had a booked for 4 nights. Struggled to get to the venue, had to contact host directly to give us accurate location. Upon arrival, lodge is location at the top of a hill, about 5KM drive up the rocky and dusty slopes. We arrive to be chaperoned into a a corner “Family House”. We walk in and first eyesore is seeing a squished spider on the wall, hanging like it’s part of the wall decorations. Our chaperone had left. They rooms were dusty and lifeless almost as if the house was abandoned. We inspect the single room, which has a Queen size bed. The bed had the most dusty sheets imaginable, we check the shower thinking it can’t get any worse, ONLY TO FIND SOMEONE HAD LEFT THEIR SKID-MARKS IN THE TOILET!!! The second room for sharing had the most dustiest sheets, we were also greeted by a graveyard of dead spiders and insects which . Our horror was compounded by the fact that the shower had Mould growing all over the ceiling. We addressed our concerns with the host and she went to address our rooms. Only for us to re-enter the rooms to find nothing had been changed. We spent 2 nights in that dungeon. Only to also get electrocuted by the shower handle every-time we showered. I ADVISE ANY GUEST LOOKING TO MAKE A BOOKING TO RETHINK THEIR DECISIONS OR ELSE BE PREPARED TO SPEND A NIGHT IN THE DUNGEON.

The place is far from everything, rooms are so dirty with spider webs on the sheets, no replacement of towels the next day, they dish up food for you without even asking if you’re allergic to anything then they leave the place to go sleep somewhere, dusty everywhere, toilets not clean. What terrible experience I had! Rooms: Unhygienic and untidy

An absolutely beautiful place, nestled away in the quiet woodlands of the soutpansberge. The lodge itself is well appointed, comfortable, and spotlessly tidy, while the garden and stoep afford breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The hosts are friendly and attentive, and they make a mean breakfast. For those who enjoy birdwatching, this is a must visit for a number of local specialities.

Me,my husband and our 9months baby had a lovely weekend with friends at the Wildnut lodge. Is such a cozy environment, I just loved every bit of it. The lodge is very well maintained, has plenty of rooms for a nice family weekend. Outstanding service from all the staff, and what to say about the owner, Oupa, that made us feel just like home. We even took some pictures of our little baby at the beautiful garden of the lodge. I was amazed of how well taken care the place was. I definitely recommend it. Kindness and heart warming people. I would suggest this place for the exceptional service and cleanliness, for the amazing view and best quality-price location. I would like to highlight the fact that I never felt unsafe at the lodge, as the owner is 24h available for any little thing. We really enjoyed it and appreciate all of it.
