3 Rivers | Restaurant and Lounge

This was my first visit to Pittsburgh and I was thoroughly impressed with the Hotel. However, the 3 Rivers restaurant culture was absolutely horrible. At first I just wanted to believe the waiter (male) was having a bad night and the next dining experience would be better, sadly it was not. I'm very wiling to give other a second opportunity to make a first impression, we are all human beings and entitled to have an off day. After giving the restaurant (dining section) a second chance and receiving the same horrible service, I was done with the dining room area. However, I was at the hotel for 5 days. Being an optimist I figured I would try the bar area since there was a great deal of laughter coming from this area. I quickly learned, the laughter was based on the individual and not the restaurant culture. My third experience (bar area) was again a sad state of affairs. The only up side to this visit was a male worker by the name Barrette. Barrette was not my waiter, simply someone hired to clean table. However, Barrette was the most friendliest person in the entire restaurant including the bar area. Unfortunately, I can not say the same about my actual waiter, again, extremely poor costumer service. I actually asked for my food well-done and my waiter actually laughed and stated " You must be kidding, we are way too busy". I could not believe my eyes or ears, I was horrified. After receiving my food (incorrect order) 45 minutes later it was still incorrect. Barrette actually walked over to my table and asked me if everything was okay, removed the food and refilled my water glass. Barrette was truly a God sent and the only reason I would EVER visit or refer anyone to 3 rivers restaurant. The entire staff could truly benefit from observing Barrette's interactions with customers. Sadly, I don't believe it was an isolated incident, considering I watched the staff's behavior for 5 days with other customers, sadly, it is TRULY a POOR costumer service culture. Now that you KNOW BETTER, please DO BETTER!!!!!!!!

Honestly we came here as a last resort because all of our first pick restaurant's had a really long wait and we were staying here anyways... but I'm glad it all worked out that way because the food is great! And the servers are awesome.

I had lunch here twice and dinner once....great all three times!!!!! Servers were attentive and helpful! Food was 5 Star!!!!!! I'm so lucky to have found this while visiting Pittsburgh!
