A nice way to spend an hour. We went mainly for the event on the green in May but enjoyed the museum as well.

Learn about the first peoples in Maine - The Wabanaki, a confederation of the Abenaki, Maliseet, MicMac (Mi'kmaq: Canadian spelling), Passamaquoddy and Penobscot. See many examples of their art and culture. Baskets, root clubs, drawings, birch bark items such as canoes and mukuks and more. Recently affiliated with the Smithsonian and full of historical treasures and current art by most of the best Wabanaki artists.

Enjoyed learning of indigenous peoples, history, and seeing a birchbark canoe.
