Academy Sports + Outdoors

I love Academy Sports. They have recently started to offer lower prices! I will definitely be shopping here more often.

First, I try to stay positive. Second, I try not to indulge in tooting my own horn. Those being said, I need to vent and educate so you’ll see some horn tooting, but that’s not the point of the post. December 2016, the children and I decided to gift foster children with Christmas bikes through Bloom. We purchased and delivered 40 bikes and helmets. December 2017, we decided to up the game to 100 bikes and helmets and wised up to order online and have them delivered directly to Bloom. Repeatedly, I’d order, confirm, and pay (I spaced the orders so the Bloom Closet wasn’t overwhelmed on one day.). Days later I’d get an email that part of my order was cancelled. This happened numerous times with a few helmets or bikes and I was able to order a different style or go local to buy. Here’s the kicker, though. Without telling me, Academy Sports + Outdoors just FAILED to deliver 17 of the 100 bikes! Because of surgery and family vacation, I learned of this AFTER Christmas. I contacted Academy and they assured me the correction would be made and I “wouldn’t be charged the difference since the prices have gone up”. We waited. Still no bikes. I called again. This time I was informed they were canceling my order and refunding me, but if I wanted to re-order I should be aware the prices increased. I did not re-order nor will I EVER order from Academy again. I highly encourage everyone to share this and be aware that if there’s a child whose Christmas wish you want to make come true, do NOT order from Academy Sports + Outdoors! Btw, do the math. They’re missing out on a hefty REPEAT, ANNUAL purchase!

I shop here often and am never upset. The customer service is off the charts. Great selection of sporting goods and firearms.
