I’ve been an alaska usa member for years and while living in Juneau had wonderful customer service. Since moving to Anchorage all the CSRs are lazy and don’t seem to care about customer service. Moving their clients through the line isn’t a priority. I swear it’s like the DMV…. I’ve been sitting in the drive thru line which should be considered “express” and have been waiting for over 20 mins. To withdraw some single bills. I was told there was one car ahead of me and yet that car just left and she hasn’t come back to talk to me.
I opened this account to switch all our banking needs over to you folks once we made our move to Palmer ak. how ever recently my experience with ak use has not been very good at all. I tried to get a small loan thru you folks, I started off using the online service electronic I never got any type of response saying you received my request let alone a approval or not letter. then it got worst when I went to the Palmer branch and tried to ask about my request, which was approved but again went from bad to worst as the 2 gals helping me said and did things that made me believe we would be done very soon. I made arrangements to drive to pick up my purchase 4 or 5 hours one way and told the seller all is ok should be there as planned. long story short that was yesterday afternoon and still not done . very disappointed in your service or lack of as it was the case for me. Time to move on!
Horrible customer service! Went through the drive up to withdraw MY MONEY from MY ACCOUNT while in a hurry to get back to work and instead received attitude by the rep for not filling out a piece of paper. I sent up the envelope along with my ID and apparently filled it out wrong, I told the rep I can provide my account number along with my request. She kept arguing that I had to fill out this envelope properly as I had explained I was in a hurry.. Sure I’ll fill it out and get it right next time but at this moment I needed this request expedited. The rep shouted again to fill out the form and turned off her screen. I then asked to speak with a manager and Sarah came to the window and also could not accommodate as I explain again that I was in hurry. Instead these reps refused to assist me and I had to rush off without being able to withdraw MY MONEY from MY ACCOUNT. What could’ve been an easy and quick transaction was instead an upsetting experience.
A homeless woman came into the building and she was not understanding that she couldn't have more than $100 from her bank account if she didn't have her I.D. She was upset because of it and not understanding. After explaining it to her a couple times they said she couldn't have any money and kicked her out. They had a severe lack of patience and made a homeless woman walk miles to the next bank.
Most experiences have been 5 star. One lesser experience from a year ago still baffles me. $5,000 was deducted from my checking acct, due to an error by AFCU accounting. That’s not just my assessment, they admitted this and replaced the money in my account. However…since I didn’t keep $5,000 in my checking acct, the error created an overdraft and I was charged an overdraft fee. I protested and asked for a refund of the fee. AFCU refused to refund the overdraft charges, no explanation at all, just a refusal. Of course I steamed for a week or so, but finally decided that I needed them more than they needed me, so I let it go. This anniversary note just served to re-steam me for a bit.
I really like this credit union...customer service is awesome!!! 5 Star!! Only thing it is SUPER hard to get a loan from them. That is why I gave them 4 stars!! I have been with them 4 years and have had great service. :
I have been with them for almost 20 years. When i moved out of state I chose to keep them. That says alot.
Alaska USA has really cheap service. They will leave you on hold for over an hour like they did to me. Their automated systems aren’t representatives. They need to redo their automated system. I’m going to switch my bank to one that actually has good service.
Clean and bright facility with helpful and professional staff Rhey in particular was so kind and graceful helping us complete a notary for us. A wonderful anchorage community partner.
Been with this bank for a long time. When I had troubles with my account, most times I would have my disputes resolved. Highly recommended, from my experience.
