Great experience. Stayed in the new trapper cabin which was very nice. Rental shop guys very knowledgable about the sleds and the best places to ride. Restaurant and lodge staff were very friendly. Cozy home town feeling. Will be back.

Just terrible, we arrived there at 10 in the morning, check in was at 2 we went and told them we were here to see if we could get in early. Rooms weren't done till 4. No internet no service. They said there was a lot of powder, there wasn't. Someone put a lot of sugar in our truck gas tank... Said they could help us. Rooms were not cleaned daily and stains on the towels and bed sheets.. mold in the bathroom. It was so bad We left 2 days early. Do your self a favor and stay else where...........

Second time to Albany and it was a great time! Our server in the mornings was entertaining and for the most part the food was out in good time. Pricing is very affordable and it makes it hard to choose what to eat. Lodging was clean and proceed right. We didn't rent sleds so I can't rate that. Thanks for the fun, Albany Lodge!

This group of 11, hoping to be repeat customers and spend $6k a year, will not be returning due to poor customer service with the snowmobile rental part of Albany Lodge. In other areas, Dulce was very helpful with the room rental and reservations leading up to the visit. Christin was a great server. Lodging was good.
I was here in January with one other person. In March, I organized and led a large group consisting of 3 nights in the Brown house, 9 sleds rented, 4 meals eaten at the lodge, 11 people in our group.
Everyone who interacted with Brad and Austin at the sled rental walked away with a terrible impression. Arrogant and rude through the whole check out and check-in process. I did damage a sled to the tune of $1100. It did suck, but the process to work it out was compounded with the arrogance and rudeness of Brad and Austin. They did not want us around when checking in the machines, berated me when communicating about damages, and had no inkling of a desire of trying to keep a customer.
One red-headed server was very condescending and rude. I gave her a pass the first day at breakfast assuming maybe she didn't get enough caffeine yet. The last day when we were sitting in front of the lodge, turning in our sleds, she came out to smoke and told us we were sitting on her bench! Chivalry will die with this one barking at customers. It's obvious to me she reflects the owner's or managers' opinion of customers.
I've ridden/rented dirt bikes or snowmobiles in the UP of Michigan, Black Hills of South Dakota, Sierra National Forest in CA, Little Sahara in OK, and many other local rides. The majesty of the Snowy Range on a snowmobile speaks for itself. The rudeness of a few at Albany Lodge puts a black eye on our sport, the mountains, and the people of this area.

Anybody wanting to be treated like an enemy right from the start, if you like arrogance and being scolded from asking a question, if you want to be told they care less about customer service, if anyone doesn't care about a spoiled vacation, if you enjoy being threatened by calling the Sheriff when settling up, then by all means try renting a snowmobile from this place. The above happened to our group of nine renters in March 2018. A terrible experience!
