Anyone who owns a boat knows the importance of having a good shop to rely on when things go wrong. We're fortunate at SML to have one that won't take you for a ride. I'm local and this is who my neighbors and even another local mechanic recommended (I have and Evinrude). Mike and his team have been the key to my boat staying on the water.
They do get busy since they have quite a local following, so it might take a few weeks for them to work you in, but they'll tell you that up front. For my money, it's worth the wait to know they're not going to sell you more than you need. Heck, they've even told me how to fix something minor myself so I could quickly get back on the water.
Sure glad they're part of our community!

Excellent service, attention to detail, and commitment to quality. I found that they treat my boat as if it was one of their own. I have recommended them to many people over the years.

They have been taking care of different boats that I have owned over the last 20 or so years. They have always been there for our family to help us enjoy Smith Mountain Lake

I was not the first person to fall victim to this marina. Look them up on the Better Business Bureau. The owner sweet talked me and then once he got my money, couldn't care less about the quality of service that was done to my boat. I made the mistake of paying before verifying the work that I was charged for. I was charged phantom hours at $80 an hour and was never asked prior to service how much everything would cost. My service was done by an inexperienced, unsupervised child that was not only angry and rude with me, but put me in danger based upon the work he did. I had to take the boat back twice after paying $3500 when I found a huge gas leak in the engine room. The boat would not even start. This was after they told me it was "all ready". Plus, they are not even on the lake, so they will charge you extra hours to transport the boat to the lake for a test drive, if they even bother, which in my case I had to literally make the senior mechanic go with me to make sure they actually fixed the boat. Guess what, they had to make another adjustment. Go somewhere else!!!
