Keith's Boat Service LLC

Good morning, I used Keith’s Boat Service LLC before to have a small boat repair done. Betweens the months of December 2017 and January 2018 I took my boat to Keith’s Boat Service LLC to have the lower unit replaced. I told Keith the owner of Keith’s Boat Service LLC to take his time, not knowing it would take him six months to complete the repair. I called the shop often to inquire the status of the boat and I continued to get poor excuses of weather, parts, and too much work in the the shop is causing delays. After a few months of me driving to the shop to check on the status of the boat and calling every week. I decided to just stand there with a mechanic working on my boat and help him finish the service. After about an hour of my assistance he told me the boat will be done the following day. I arrived at Keith’s boat shop the next morning to pay for his services and take my boat home. As I was preparing my boat for travel on my trailer I realized that there were tools, parts, and accessories from my engine left all over the deck. Hydraulic pump was left uninstalled, along with my oil tank, and air shroud. Upon further inspection at my residence I found switch’s unsecured at the control counsel, loos engine mount bolts, broken hose clamps, and missing engine parts that were not changed over from the original lower unit. I ended up driving back to Keith’s Boat Shop to recover missing parts and installed them myself. My problem is I paid for a service that was not completed, I was charged for labor that was not completed and my boat engine still doesn’t work. My payment was about $1,500 with 1/3 of the cost being labor cost. I spent over four hours inspecting, buying replacement parts, driving back to the boat shop, and installing parts that should of been taking care of. I have no confidence in Keith’s Boat Shop LLC competence to properly repair my boat. I believe that I should be compensated for the labor paid and that Keith’s Boat Shop should pay for another service company to evaluate. Currently filling a BBB complaint and talking to my lawyer
