Went here on a date. We both like German food and beer. We thought this was a nice place with authentic and tasty food and beer. The decor was cool and the staff relaxed and efficient. Would definitely recommend and will go back for sure.

The food was pretty good, but not nearly as good as I'm used to out in Leavenworth. I enjoyed a nice dark beer that had lots of rich flavor. Unfortunately, the service was dreadful. The server was quite upset that we needed to split the check with some people on one and the rest on another. We had about 11 people from two different companies. I doubt I'll go back, even if I don't have to pay.

I work in Pioneer Square and come here often after work for various happy hours. Having been here 10 or some times, here is my run-down: Pros: - Great Beer selection - Good capacity for large group - Food is tasty - Outside seating when the weather is nice Cons: - Service can be slow, especially with huge groups - Have had to wait 15 minutes for a beer (on several occasions) - Pricey. Very easy to spend $60 on two beers and an entree here, although that may be more of a Seattle thing than an Altstadt thing. Despite its cons, I like this place and would recommend to anyone looking for good food an beer. Don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit, especially when it is busy. If you are looking for a quickie, go nextdoor to The Central.

Love this place. The rustic looking bar and tables I believe set the atmosphere for the German food and brew this place was going for. I have had some interesting menu items, ones not so sure about when ordering but have truly never had a meal I was not pleased about when I was done. Great selections of beer for all likings. My favorite is a grapefruit beer, Stiegl Radler, which has always been a favorite. I don't always stop in to eat, but when in Seattle for a day trip, sporting event, or anything else, we at least stop in for a drink before heading home.

Food is okay drinks are well crafted and the bartender max is very charming. However this little bar is tucked away in a slightly seedy area and in the short amount of time i was there over two nights my party was harassed by 3 different homeless people begging for drink money or ranting about hating non prodistants. Great place bad location.
