The guys were cheerful and we all helped to find the whales in the cloudy day. I will certainly come again but on the cloudy. I would also suggest to check the proper ID cards for the security.

Terrific experience at a great price! Over 100 seals seen on a lovely, comfortable boat with excellent guides. Super recommend!

Had an amazing time whale watching. Saw about six humpback whales, pods of dolphins, and may have even seen a minke whale. The experience was breathtaking! The staff is very knowledgeable and there is a naturist on board to answer all questions. Would highly recommend this trip!
And keep in mind that when viewing wildlife there is no guarantee that the animals will cooperate. Bad reviews because people did not see whales are ridiculous. If you want any guarantees, whale watching is not for you.

I went on a whale and dolphin watch cruise with my family on American Princess! We saw 3 whales and a lot of dolphins swimming by and even though it was mostly backs and fins it was a wonderful experience! About 4 hours out in the ocean, great weather and fresh air!!! Nice ship and very friendly staff.

I have mixed feelings about this tour. On one hand, the crew is helpful and kind and the boat ride is a nice getaway from NYC if you come prepared (make sure to bring sunscreen, seasickness pills, sunglasses, water-proof clothes or outer shell, & CASH). On the other hand, their advertising is misleading. They will not give you a voucher or discount for another tour if you don't spot any whales and see some dolphins. I don't know about you but I would not go through the trouble of traveling to and from the Rockaways (about 1.5-2 hrs one way) AND paying $50 per ticket AND spending 4 hours on a turbulent boat just to see some dolphins. Dolphins ≠ whales. They're not even on the same level. It would be like ordering a steak and getting a chicken sandwich and having them say "Sorry no refunds." Some reviewers mentioned getting a coupon after seeing no whales and some dolphins. Thus, when I asked the staff about the voucher, they completely balked and said none would be issued because we saw dolphins. I wonder if their 90% sightings rate is based on seeing whales OR dolphins. They didn't answer me back on that. I haven't given up hopes on spotting a whale near NYC but will definitely think twice before booking and paying for another expensive tour.
