I would advise against renting a unit from this company.
Cons:
Poor quality of units, consumer relationships, and own facilities
No online payments, physical check required for rent expense
Focused on collecting money, first and foremost. I have requested that my screens be replaced with screens that do not have holes in them. They have ignored my request for now 6 months and are unwilling to do anything about it. If it doesn't directly make them more money, they aren't interested! This isn't the case all of the time, see below, but it is the feeling you get when you rent a property with this company.
Pros:
Quick maintenance support for emergencies. The lock on my unit's door broke and I requested App Management to fix it that day. They came promptly and fixed it.

Incredibly disorganized management system. Apartments are basically dumpsters but still overpriced. Employees are rude on the phone and don’t communicate with each other so you have to repeat yourself to 5 different people in order to get anything done.

All they care about is getting money. They don’t do separate leases, which is an awful deal for tenants. If you HAVE to sign with them, make sure your roommates are trustworthy enough to pay. Otherwise you will have the responsibility of paying twice or triple your rent in order to not get evicted. They *also* tried to evict me over $20.

I'm not sure exactly why this place is reviewed so poorly, we have been with app management for over 3 years now. In those three years we have had, our stairs knocked out by our neighbors collecting a haul of wood for the winter months, our mailbox washed out due to vast amounts of rain, as well as many occurrences of our well acting up and our water cutting off. With all of these shenanigans occurring these people have been out in various extremes of weather in order to ensure we are taken care of and have proper living conditions. Not to mention in a very timely manner, I honestly can't thank these people enough for what they have done for me and my family. Keep it up app management you guys are bee's knees!!

I've been leasing with Appalachian Management for two years and have enjoyed living in, and the layout of each apartment (1340 / 1557 W King St). Maintenance issues have been quickly addressed and I've always had appropriate forewarning when my apartment was being shown. Parking has never been an issue at any point, so long as your sticker is visible.
They're very straight forward with their expectations. Sure, lady in the front office could use a little chill, but she knows her stuff and will get you what you need.
I'm rather sad to be leasing with another company when this contract is up. Its been a good experience.
