I loved this little inn! It's comfortable, clean, cozy, charming, in a fantastic location close to the cliff walk, the mansions Elms is literally next door and walkable to downtown. Free bus 67 also runs within a 3 minute walk. And! The breakfast is absolutely delicious, made by the knowledgeable, friendly, patient and always helpful inn keeper. Next time I'm back, this is the place I'll be staying!
I spent 2 nights at Artful lodger inn. Staffs are very nice and the breakfast was so good! Private parking and the location were good as well. I just wish the bed was updated to a new one.Rooms: 4/5
Great B&B in Newport just off the touristy main drag. Can't go wrong here. Customer service & satisfaction are outstanding. Owner goes above & beyond to meet your needs.Rooms: 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay! We were a little nervous with Covid but Ron and Heidi were great and the place was very clean! Very accommodating and friendly as well as helpful with the "inside knowledge" of the area. Made to order breakfast was delicious, the fresh hot muffins were a nice touch. The view from the dining area and balcony were just beautiful. The room Estella Suite was bigger than expected and very clean. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and other attractions but couldn't hear the noise from the inn. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back!
Nice little rooms. Great breakfast every morning. Very friendly staff. Only complaint is the rooms were very hot. We stayed at the end of December and we had to sleep with all 3 windows open the entire time.
This inn was incredibly cute and clean. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again. The highlight of the stay for me was breakfast in the morning. I had incredible french toast, a buttered muffin, and yogurt with berries. The location was also idea for us to walk to the cliff walk and into town. Highly suggest!Rooms: 5/5
Our stay at the Artful Lodger for two days over the Labor Day weekend was wonderful. Heidi and Ron took great care of us from start to finish. Our room was well-maintained and the staff spent a tremendous amount of time cleaning and making sure everyone remained appropriately distanced. I would highly recommend Ron’s sweet bread French toast- it’s delicious!
This low profile inn is well located to go visit the Newport mansions and a 7 min drive to downtown. It is one block away from the Elms. Heidi, the inn keeper, is sweet and pays attention to her guests. The inn is a little eclectic in its theme and decorations but the simple breakfast is great and right on point. In addition, the view from the top of the inn is worth 5 stars.
Absolutely loved my birthday weekend getaway! Ron and Heidi were great and the inn was in a perfect location. It was within walking distance of Thames and all the great spots to eat and cute shops. Also right across the street from the Elms. Walking distance to 40 steps and cliff walk and the mansions on Bellevue. The inn is older but that adds to the charm, the rooms are not sound proof so you can hear others outside but it wasn’t a bother. The view from the upstairs dining area was spectacular....I’ll definitely be back for another stay. Don’t forget to try Ron’s French toast and his amazing muffins!!
Stumbled upon this place through Google and booked a room for a quick over night get away with the hubby. Best stumble ever! The owners are ridiculously nice and greeted us with fresh baked cookies. We stayed Havisham Suite and it is so unique and very charming. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Walking distance to so many things. We will definitely be coming back!
