Went to Astro for breakfast one morning and enjoyed the friendly staff and hearty breakfast so much, we returned the next morning! Loved this diner. The food was good, fast, and reasonably priced. I recommend the French Toast and sausage.

TOURISTS BEWARE! If you are not from the United States you may not understand that many restaurants in New York will try and take your money for food that is labeled "American", "Barbecue", or "Original." Astro Grill is a Diner, a place where you can eat when you are drunk, hungover, or otherwise out of options. DO NOT expect real barbecue, real Italian, or anything that is real food. They do a good omelet, good pancakes, a so-so burger, but everything else will be a challenge to your pallet and a complete waste of your money. Dear lord, tonight I actually heard someone order Ribs and Lasagna from this place! Please don't eat that type of food here! NYC is full of way better restaurants than this place! Please don't eat here and then go home and tell everyone how bad the food is in America. This place is low end fast food, just know that before you go in. PS- Don't ever order the clam chowder!

Nice restaurant with friendly staff. The prices are great and it's open later than many of the other restaurants in the area. Most important of all, the food was excellent and the menu has a great variety.

This is pretty much what I expected going in—decent everything with a very large menu. Mozzarella sticks and quesadillas are up to standard. I can’t say there’s much that makes it stand out, though.

I had a grilled cheese with fries and a coffee. The coffee was so-so but still ran $2.75. My friend had the chicken-salad-stuffed tomato and it was the better deal for a similar price. They let us sit and chat so it was easy to top well.
