Rock Center Café

My husband and I came here with our 2 children for Xmas weekend in NYC. We have visited many times over the years so we are familiar with the fine dining that is offered in this wonderful city. We just returned from a late night holiday dinner that was fixed price. We paid $350 for 2 adults / 2 children. My compliments to the chef for pulling off the biggest SHAM- taking advantage of the holiday season as well as the cache of its internationally recognized name. Ordered scallops and pork as appetizers. For dinner we ordered the fillet, quinoa cake, kids pasta, kids fish & chips. It was easy to tell that the quality of food was very poor- no better than a local diner. For dessert we ordered the apple pie, brownie, brownie sundae. Deserts from Costco were of better quality than this. The atmosphere was festive with a great view of the ice skating, but certainly not enough to compensate for a lousy meal. SAVE YOUR $ AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO ENJOY.

Disappointed at the service this past Sunday. Waited a long time for our meals. When they brought our meals, it did not fill our stomachs. We had to order sides at an additional cost. Server disappeared on us. I did read the previous reviews but gave them a chance because we ate there last spring. A big difference from the last time we were here. Trust my review and don't do the same thing I did by ignoring the reviews. Also, don't let them sit you near the kitchen because you get ignored from the server.

The grilled salmon was cooked well, but it was underseasoned. The caesar salad was fresh but the dressing was bland. Good calamari and guacamole though. Nice ambiance.

We were there on Saturday, March 10 2018. Ordered tha salmon which was good. However you were given one small roll and never offered any more. The roll was very good and since it was delivered to the table prior to the entree it was eaten. Give the waiter a 22% tip. NO thank you. Last time we will be dining at the Rock Cafe.

Brilliant place to sit and watch the skaters. Good, but not great, food. Service efficient.
