I was excited they had vegan options, but the currywurst was just some tomato sauce with curry seasoning on top. Nothing really earth shattering or impressive. But for 8 bucks, who can really complain?

I wanted this to transport me back to my late 70s / early 80s living in West Germany - but it didn't. Not because it wasn't good - but because it simply wasn't the same as what I enjoyed as a military dependent in Ramstein village. Truly, I've never had Berlin's currywurst - and certainly not the original recipe from Herla Heuwer in Berlin. All I remember from childhood was a more thickened curry sauce - and the obligatory broschten on the side. I've ordered Currywurst from Voodoo Dog in TLH - and dammit - I wish they would simply present it the way it's meant to me (sausage sliced, bread on side) but they don't. That said, the Currywurst here certainly didn't evoke childhood memories. Instead, it came across a wee bland, and the brotchen wasn't what I remember. If you're coming here to relive your glory days in West Germany - move on and find something else. If you're coming here to enjoy a new experience that may very well mimic Herla Heuwer's creation - then by all means, continue through. It's possible that it's exactly like what it's supposed to be.
