One of my favorite Restaurant is the Heidelberg. A Family treat excellent selection of beers and the grandchildren love the Pretzels. The past twenty years of visits to the Heidelberg it has been a particular pleasure

Even on one of the busier days of the year (St Patrick's day), this was a great choice for some delicious Bavarian food. I loved my Bratwurst platter, and my girlfriend's spätzle was equally scrumptious. We also shared a "small" German pretzel, which turned out to be as enormous as it was delicious! We polished the meal off with some apfelstreudel, and we were glad we saved some room for it! The staff was kind and efficient despite being so overworked, and the overall quality of the food was high. The ambience was reminiscent of that of a German pub, and the food only reinforced that!

An upper East side landmark. A great place for German beer and more importantly food. I love the Weiner Schnitzel, good size portions too.
