I found a shark tooth! It took quite a bit of searching though. Plan on spending a few hours here. It was very fun, I'll come back again. Be sure to bring water shoes or waders because there is a lot of trash in and around the water. A screen to sift the gravel is also a must.

Great place to get a hands-on learning experience. Fun for kids and parents too.

Great for fossil hunting! Make sure you follow the regulations on number of fossils you can take (5), size of your screen (max 18") and digging tools (trowels only.. max blade size 6").

Found several prehistoric sharks teeth along with some other fossils. One very pretty decent size cretlamna appendiculata. Wear shoes due to broken glass if you go. Take a fresh set of socks and shoes to change into afterwards and a jug of water just to wash your feet off when you get back to the car. The black sand in the creek bed gets embedded in your socks and shoes.
