I went there for the first time recently. It was mid April, and I was so pleased with the beautiful sight lines all along the trails, and the diversity of terrain. It's not the most aggressive of hikes, but it has enough up and down to be energetic.

Start of our hike in the nipmuck trail. This hike was beautiful and through areas that felt mostly remote. Very awesome for central ct!

Beautiful and peaceful place.  The park has much outstanding scenery, trails and plenty of space to find your own slice of heaven.

Amazing trails!! Great to spend a half or full day exploring. Only caveat is that you have to go in the off season unless you want to break the bank to get in. Nature should be free.
