1 star because zero is not an option! I looked them up after the fact and found a few instances like we had. We brought our family dog in for some arthritis related pain. He tested positive for heart worms and was give an antibiotic treatment for the worms. He was a 10 year old member of our family, and he died that evening. He was foaming at the mouth and vomited, looked like he was having an over dose of some type. I called the vet that later that day after we finished burying him I was told I would receive a call from the doctor, no call. When I called the next day it seemed like I was speaking to someone who really didn't care that we lost our family member, because that is what he was a member of our family. The doctor didn't want to listen to what I had to say. She said that is the risk with heart worm treatment (never explained he may die) and in the next breath said this has never happened with this type of antibiotic. She said a worm must have dislodged and went into his lungs. Sounds like she knew the risks to me.

My dog Bexar hated going anywhere in the truck, but after going and seeing his girls at the clinic, we now just say "Lets go see your girls." Must be the treats...lol Always great service with care and compassion. We will be taking my husband's picky Queen Meesha for her check up. 18 years old and extremely picky poodle mix.

My puppy did get the basic check up and flea treatment we went for. The staff seemed pretty rushed which is understandable but not the care I was expecting based on recommendations I had gotten from family who also go here. When I scheduled the appointment I asked about the cost of the check up, flea treatment and dewormer. The prices I was told were very reasonable. While we were there they mentioned that her nails needed to be clipped and that they could do it, I said yes without asking the cost( my mistake but I thought they had good prices). When we got ready to leave my bill was about twice what I expected. Everything they had given me a price for over the phone was double what they had told me and they charged $15 to cut her nails. I didn't ask about the cost on the nail cutting so that's my fault, but that is triple what I've spent in the past. I asked about the prices they had given me over the phone versus the bill I was paying and was given various excuses. I was quoted a basic checkup but they gave her comprehensive, the vet doesn't like the dewormer that I was given a price for so they gave her the more expensive one, same thing on the flea treatment. I told them when I made the appointment that this was a puppy I had just adopted from the shelter. Why wouldn't they give me the price to do a comprehensive exam on her? Obviously a new puppy from the shelter would need one. I feel like the whole thing was a bait and switch. The worst part is if they had given me accurate pricing when I called I still would have taken her for her first appointment and I might have gone back but now I'm looking for a new vet that can tell me honestly what services cost before they are done.
