Brown's Hardware

I love it. You need a neighborhood hardware store. Every square foot is the essentials. It's amazing how they've fine tuned inventory to exactly what folks typically need.

Love to see that big box stores still have competition. These guys are helpful, prices are reasonable and location has parking (behind the store). We always check here first when we need something

When I need to find a nut that fits the size and threading style of a particular bolt, and/or I only need one or two screws or washers, I head to Brown's because they have bins full of loose items. You can't do that at the big box stores such as Home Depot, which only sell things in packages that don't allow the customer to check the products for perfect fit before buying them, and force the customer to buy far more than s/he actually needs. The other reasons I go to Brown's first are because it's close and its employees are friendly and helpful.

Every small town needs a hardware store. When a town dies the hardware stores is among the last go. I know because I was a small town boy myself. It has a small town feel because it isn't built like a giant warehouse, it is a building that would be at home in Mayberry and Mr. Brown and his staff and make you feel welcome from their 1st greeting to “ what may I help you with.” I am amazed at what I find there. Maybe not a bin full of a 100, maybe only two or three but the next time you come in Mr. Brown has ordered some more. It is a pleasure to shop there.
