Budget Truck Rental

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION. I had reserved a truck more than 30 days in advance of my move. The week of my move I received a call from a woman at the location who told me that they were "overbooked". This meant that I was SOL and she was actually " doing me a favor" by cancelling me with a few days to scramble rather than "last minute"(?!). She then went on a nasty , crude, low class rant and then hung up the phone. The only word I said on the call was "hello". Well many hours and phone calls later some important facts came to light: 1. The nasty witch that hung up on me is named Joyce. 2. That the facility had other trucks available but didn't even have the courtesy or business acumen to see if different equipment would work. (it would have) 3. That the exact size truck I needed was at another location 5 MILES away. (not a big deal) 4. I should have checked Google reviews before I selected my original rental locations as the reviews say Joyce is nasty and hangs up on customers.( Joyce is also affiliated with the Branford, CT Location) 5. There is a real difference between a company branch and a franchised branch but this is hard to tell in advance of booking. 6. My AARP discount is not worth the hassle of Budget. Uhaul has newer, better trucks, more rental locations and I have not come across any foul-mouthed reps named Joyce.
