I want to thank Dr Galatis so much! I felt a sharp pain in the eye on the weekend, was not able to use my eye at all and my optometrist was not able to make an emergent appointment for the next day. So I was desperately looking for another doctor. Even though I did not see Dr Galatis before this incident, her office gladly made an appointment the same day, I was accurately diagnosed crack in the eye cornea, and received all medications and directions that helped with immediate relief. Dr Galatis is so good with patients, pays a lot of attention to detail and so supportive. Thank you so much!
Great experience. Dr. Galatis is extremely professional, patient and very knowledgeable. The visit didn’t feel rushed. This is my first time seeing her. Thank you and I will be waiting to receive my glasses!! This was in September. After the visit I placed an order paying for a pair of glasses. I had to wait 1 month to receive them, and after getting them I couldn't see with them. First time I have this kind of problem with the glasses, but Dr. Galatis told me that she'd fix them herself without sending them back to the lab. I waited another month for them calling and leaving voice messages, but nobody picked the phone or called back. Yesterday I decided to go myself and check what was happening since Saturday they're supposed to be open. I got there and decided to call before getting inside. As usual nobody picked up, and even the door was locked. I'm very frustrated since I need the new pair of glasses, and this is the first time I have this kind of problems with a business. Update: Got my glasses right on time for Christmas. I would say better later than ever. Dr. Galatis told me she had to send them to the Lab, that's why all this happened. The only problem was that thay weren't fixed and I saw blurry again. She told me everything looked fine, even if it didn't. I spent time and money, and now have to get another visit paying out of pocket since my insurance will not cover for the visit, frame and glasses. Now I have two pair of useless glasses. Thank you! Conclusion: I went to have another vision visit in Brookline. The Dr. showed me that the classes that I received were not correct and during the visit they showed me the difference between the lens that I received and the new visit. I got really frustrated and had to pay out of pocket, but at least now I can see clearly!
Extremely frustrating experience. Dr. Galatis is very nice however it is impossible to reach the office. I have called six times over four weeks to request a copy of my prescription. Half the time the mailbox is full. I have been able to leave voicemails a couple times but no one ever calls me back. I went to the office today during their posted normal business hours since I can’t reach them via phone and no one is there. Incredibly frustrating.
This was one of the worst experiences I have had at a medical professionals office. After filling out the paperwork which asks you the same questions, three times the doctor walked into the waiting area and said “I’m sick and I’m leaving”, grabbed her bag, and shouted back to the girl at the front desk to “lock up”, all of this occurring less than 3 minutes before my appointment was supposed to start. The girl at the front desk attempted to offer me a new appointment next week without so much of an acknowledgement of ridiculous and rude the entire situation was. I acknowledge that people get sick, but there is a polite way to address a patient who’s appointment you need to reschedule.
I have been going to Dr Galatis for almost 20 years, since I was 10 years old. She is great. Although, now it would be easier to just go to a larger company or chain, Dr Galatis is quiet knowledgeable, knows me well and is easy to talk to about my questions or concerns.
Dr. CJ was incredibly kind, professional, and thorough. She quickly discovered that I had been wearing a prescription much too strong for me, got me set up with one that is perfect for everyday wear. I can't wait for my new glasses with the frames she helped me pick out. 10/10 would recommend.
Her hours may say 9-1pm Saturdays but those Saturdays are to her own discretion so you don't know if she'll actually be there if you just need something quick like a copy of your rx. I showed up around 10am Saturday morning and see her closed sign flipped and see her sitting at the desk. I knock and wave, she comes to the door and barely cracks it to see what I want. I let her know I only need my glasses rx and that's it. She quips that she's closed but she'll do this for me "just this once." Prints it and hands it over, and remarks that it's my lucky day. ??? I have worked in eye care, specifically optometry for years and find this kind of service pitiful. She may be convenient for Cleveland Circle residents but optometrists are a dime a dozen and I'll find another one.
It is nearly impossible to reach them. The voicemail is almost always full and you cannot leave a message. In addition, the prescription she gave my daughter was incorrect. This is the second time this happened. I am now trying to get a copy of her records so that I can bring them to someone new, but again, I can’t reach anyone or leave a message.
easy to schedule appointments, main reason for choosing her was location, I live five min walk away. office is a disaster but try not to judge that too hard she's very smart and thorough
Dr. Caliope was pleasant and professional. I prefer the small business experience to the big box stores. The office is a little dated.
