Carmelita's Mexican Restaurant

I was visiting in Florida and got to eat here with some friends. The food was great! The price was not bad at all either. We picked up the tab for 7 people, 2 ordered a beer with their meal and 2 ordered desserts and the bill was only a little over $100. (I think that included the tip. Another thing I liked about the restaurant was the mariachi band they had playing. They wandered through the restaurant playing for different tables. They play for tips which was fine with me because the music was great. All in all I had a great experience at Carmelita's and I would highly suggest it.

Always a good meal here! Not many restaurants give you warm chips and salsa. My favorite is the California burrito with shredded beef that is tender. They have combo plates which is what my husband orders all the time - 25a. If you have room for dessert, fried ice cream is delicious!

Decor is as you would expect. Colourful and cheery. Chips and salsa included which were above average as was the margarita . Enchiladas were extremely good. Service was wonderful. Very friendly and attentive.

Went with a large group of people (15) from Church. Individual checks, one waitress serving us She was excellent. My dining companion had a Mexican Pizza loved it. I ordered a Fish Tacos on Soft Flour tortilla shells very good, better than the one on 66 Street. We will again return to this location, better service, better food.

I love Carmelita's, the food is great, the staff's really nice and the atmosphere is comfortable, relaxed, and welcoming. The complimentary chips and salsa is fresh (if you don't mind heat ask for the hot salsa, it's delicious). The guacamole is really tasty, and the corn is a great side. The prices are great considering how wonderful the food is.
