Visited Kansas City for the first time with a couple of my friends and had a blast. We were hoping on our way out of town we could stop by a local comic shop to see if we could pick up a small stash of goodies before we go (I particularly had my eyes set on the newest release of SAGA), so we searched up the closest shop and walked several blocks to get there. As soon as we enter Clint’s Comics, we are met with probably the rudest staff I’ve ever encountered at any establishment. Now granted, I’ve worked customer service for years. I COMPLETELY understand of a small group comes in close to close, you can get a little annoyed. But this woman was AWFUL. First off: I understand not bringing food or drink in the store, and I understand turning bags and such in at the front to prevent theft. That’s a perfectly sound rule and quickly we all turned over what we had to go look around. Me and my friends were browsing around for the store and I immediately find a comic I’ve been looking for and I fully intended to buy. But then from behind, this awful old lady who initially I thought as sweet told me not to touch the collectibles, as it decreases their values. It’s??? A new release??? If you’re looking to prevent people from picking it up and reading it??? Where’s the protective cover??? I myself am a rather timid person, so I wasn’t about to argue with a person in charge. But it didn’t stop there. I politely put it down and apologized, rejoining my friends on another aisle. But this lady kept following me. By this time I knew this situation wasn’t going to get any better. Eventually she approached one of my closest friends and proceeded to tell her “We don’t have anything for you here, thank you for stopping by,” and began to give a gesture for us to leave. To which, made my friend cry. I have never, NEVER been so derrated in my life. My friends and I left immediately. Waste of time and money. Don’t ever expect a friendly experience there. I myself am a longtime avid reader and collector of comics. Hell, I’m in entering college for learning to create them in a business standing!!!! Comic fans should feel welcome in an environment they know best. I feel that an environment like this needs to be inclusive and inviting. And this, my friends, is not Clint’s Comics.

Absolutely loved my first visit to Clint's Comics. They are full of new and old comics and have so many different ones. The lady working there was friendly, she greeted me promptly and offered to help if I needed anything. Great store from comics, to collectibles and t-shirts. I look forward to going back very soon!

This place was awesome. I'm in my late 30s and this took me back to when I was 10 going into my first shop. I took my six year old son in there today and showed him what a comic book shop was. Owner was friendly and out going. I had only been in town 15 min and this was my first stop. I could have spent hours going through old back issues.

The moment I set foot in the store I was berated by whom I assume to be the store owner on how "this comic book store only sells comic books" (imagine that...) and "not video games" (to which I wasn't even inquiring). After perusing the selection for no longer than three minutes under her ever watchful eye, I was told by the gatekeeper that "we don't have anything for you here," and was literally escorted out of the store. I would definitely not recommend this store to anyone...unless of course you prefer to be offended as you shop. If it were possible to give a zero rating I would. Though the comic book selection is decent, the total experience is greatly diminished by the resident misanthrope's lingering presence. I think you're better off finding a spot with a friendlier environment. It's a shame because this shop is in a great location, but ultimately falls short of it's potential due to it's ownership.

Went to the store today to see if the they held a particular book I was looking for. The older woman was helpful at first but after a few moments of me looking through some material she says that the store only sells to collectors and that "we didnt have what you were looking for". She was very rude during that encounter and didn't assure me that I could look at anything else and gave me the impression that was not welcomed any longer so I left. My question is if why dont they have a procedure for new clients? I'm sure they know their regular collectors and should approach new customers with patience and respect. Great comic store but the worst customer service experience I've had in a long time. Will not be spending my money there.
