Cottonwood General Store

Rick and all who work with him feed almost everyone in this remote region. They have the best grocery bags! They don't rip or split. You can carry rocks, knives and firewood in them. They are biodegradable AND edible! Of course the cost of most items is slightly more than anyone is accustomed. This is the end of the supply chain pipeline. When the 180 mile round trip to and from Alpine is considered, you'll discover it's cheaper to buy here than make the long trip yourself. I don't know how he and his group manages to do it all. The selections are broad, the quality and freshness equals any grocery store and ...did I mention the bad ass bags?

We named it the Everything Store! The 4 people in my party were very impressed with the wide variety and quality of the items carried in this store. They have something for everyone - beer, wine, produce, frozen foods, camping supplies and on and on.

THE grocery store and more in the Big Bend, Study Butte, Terlingua and beyond. If you are visiting the parks or spending some time in the area, Cottonwood is the general store that has it all. In fact, if they don't carry it, you probably can't get it out here. From fresh produce to power tools, frozen entrees to nice bottles of wine, propane, block ice and more. Even if you don't need anything this place is a trip to walk around in. Go get what you need. Pro tip: You can fill your RV or jugs with fresh potable water here. Inquire inside.

A great store. The staff is always friendly and if you need anything they don't carry they can try to get it for you. As small as the store is they have an amazingly large selection.
