Open, minimally touched, and area around the sit is not very developed. Except for someone's rooster in the distance, the preserve is peaceful. I was there Memorial Day 2016 and saw many beautiful wildflowers and grasses. There were various butterflies, moths, dragonflies, colorful beatles, and I even spotted a small brownish preying mantis.
