I agree very knowledgeable and professional. THESE ARE "NICE" GUYS... I believe everything they told me was within reason. However, after reviewing the bill...I question their labor rates and the so called billable hours. What I was charged hours for, I duplicated ( more engine coils they said were misfiring) in roughly 45 mins in my garage. I was frustrated with the malfunction and didn't challenge some of the charges. Ex. I was charged a diagnosis fee which I accept..but generally those are waved once work is performed....or which ever is higher. I accept they may have used high grade parts and I anticipate a shop mark up. However, I feel the pricing was....aggressive. I wouldn't "not have them do more work"....I would just understand/negotiate the cost. Mean while my car behaved for a little while and is now down again. What I believe is the ultimate route cause they did point at. And the issues "we"... I say we cause I agreed.... to "throw parts at" may have been a waste. I wouldn't feel as bad being wrong about those issues if the $$$'s were not so much.
So, a lot of money to not me much closer to resolution.

I love the staff. Chuck and Terry are hilarious but they know when to stop and focus. Their knowledge tends to be leaning towards the "I'm a salesman don't forget" but again, THEY ARE SALESMEN and are entitled to taking that route. Rarely have I disagreed with them, and it's the only place I get my grease and oil done (I'm heading there in about 10 minutes). I just wish they'd provide better diagnostic info instead of a quick verbal conclusion that might as well be in a different language.
Not everyone understands car tech lingo and while I can build a computer with my eyes shut, I don't know the first thing about what I'll find under a hood or why something caused my car to behave a certain way. More importantly, I don't care WHY. DON'T TELL ME WHY JUST TELL ME WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, HOW MUCH, AND IF IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. De Re is fantastic at exhibiting this behavior. Five stars all the way, customer of over 18 years.

They are very knowledgeable and professional. However I was over charged I had spark plugs for a tune up, and a number two ignition coil I was charged 975.00 plus a 100.00 for the diagnostic test. Then I was told that My fuel pump was leaking fumes so I was charged another 575.00 for that part which is the same that Chevy charges Please do research before you let them do any work . I got prices after the fact and was charged 300.00 more for the time up and the coil. And was charged another 180 for the fuel pump a total of over 1,700.00 dollars please don't use them they really take advantage of people.

My Dad and I have been going here for years with consistently great results. The staff is always friendly and do a superb job. I can't imagine going anywhere else, and I would HIGHLY recommend this auto shop to anyone around.

I've been going to De Re in Homewood since I got my first car (many years ago) and it's the ONLY shop I trust with my car; this includes the Homewood Chevrolet dealer across the street (where I unfortunately purchased my current car)
