Delamar West Hartford

Positively wonderful!!! The entire staff gets a 5 star, thumbs up. I am so impressed with my stay. I grew up in Hartford, down prospect ave. What a joy to come back and stay at the Delamar.

Lovely interior. The room was nice and very clean (as you’d expect since it’s so new). I stayed for an event and the food was delicious. Continental breakfast was very casual but nice with fresh fruit and pastries. Everyone was very friendly including the valet and the attendant at breakfast. Walking distance to all shops and restaurants in Blue Back. Something to keep in mind if you enjoy spa experiences- it appears that the spa partners with surrounding businesses to fulfill certain service requests vs having an in-house staff. Having been to the Greenwich location, I much prefer this one!

I was stopping in for happy hour and ended up staying for a couple hours. The food was great, but drinks were dead on. As our group grew in size everybody on staff were accommodating and went out of their way to make us all comfortable. I can't wait to head back....and I'm the last person one would find at a hotel bar. Be sure to get there in the fall/winter when the fire is going, it's super cozy.

I’m not in the habit to write bad reviews, but I was very disappointed with my stay at the Delamar. I got a room for me and my boyfriend for his birthday- we planned on going to the artisan for drinks and then get a bottle of wine for our room to celebrate. The artisan hours are listed that they close at 10:30, we got there at 9:30. We walk in and there’s other couples sitting down having dinner. Rather than be greeted/seated a man very rudely said they were closed and that we had to leave. The place wasn’t supposed to close for another hour and so I asked if I could just get a bottle of wine to go for our room to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and again the man just told me no and that we had to leave. It was my first time booking here- obliviously it’s a very expensive, beautiful place, but the hospitality end was unexpectedly terrible. I don’t know any place that just closes early because they feel like it and turns downs customers who come in during their operating hours. It was a complete disappointment that I booked something that was meant to be special and relaxing but we were greeted with such negative and rude energy.

I go for the fabulous food and best of all to people watch. Never know who you'll see there. Had the opportunity to meet a great Chef and entrepreneur Mr. Danny Meyers. Sat at the bar and had a great conversation with a couple who just moved into town. And the bartenders, Rebecca and Alejandro bring their own vibrant energy. You won't be disappointed. From the time you come in you will be greeted with warmth (Maiya) and everything with be managed with flawless execution from Bruce and Oliviè. Take advantage of the beautiful outdoor space with flower, vegetables and fruits growing in front of your eyes.
