Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center of South Carolina

I notice all the bad reviews, almost all regard the wait time. And yes, the wait time is less than acceptable. I've been in twice. Both times I had an appointment and didn't see the PA until about an hour after my appointment. BUT when I did see her, she was very professional, knowledgeable and she prescribed me what I needed the first time. I had been to other Dermatologists with no results for my rosacea. After seeing the PA here my face is 80% better than it was. So of you have the time to wait, the service was very good.

If you want to sit on the floor in the hallway outside of the office while you wait for your appointment, this is the perfect place to go! It also is the best place to go if you want to be told that they are running a hour behind upon your arrival. Highly unprofessional environment that I will not be suggesting to others. The women running the desk are also highly disrespectful, as they were blunt in response when I asked if we really were being told to sit on the floor. In addition, we had to call for directions, as they are incorrectly listed online. When called, they were very catty and blunt with their answers. If I'm being honest, this is perhaps the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor's office and I will not be returning. Don't waste your time.

Terrible care. Had appointment to see PA on 7th to refill Rx. He never did. Called office about 50 times and can never get anyone to answer. Finally speak to someone and I’m told maybe they’ll get to it maybe they won’t.

My mother saw Dr Masessa (Feb 2016) over a year ago for removal of squamas cell carcinoma. He ended up cutting a nerve in her face telling her he got 95% of her cancer put bandages on & tried to send her elsewhere for another doctor to fix. Since then she was finally told the left side of her face is paralized, the nerve can not be repaired she has no smile, drooping eye on the left side and no feeling. Is still undergoing reconstructive surgery where the tumor was removed at MUSC by a real team of doctors. Also, had to have 6 weeks radiation. Had my mother not went to MUSC she would not be here today. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY SERVICES, YOU MAY NOT LIVE TO TELL THIS TYPE EXPERIENCE. I SELECTED ONE STAR ONLY CAUSE I HAD TO FOR THIS TO POST. BEWARE! BEWARE!! BEWARE!!!

I thought previous dermatology was bad when I didn't even see a doctor. This one was even worse. They didn't do yearly body check up but they went ahead and suggested me to remove the mole with having biopsy. Then they submitted me "out of network" to Aetna though this facility was in network. Spent two months on the phone and all this time they were sending me bills trying to racketeer payment from me. Went to another dermatologist and he said that NO MOLE REMOVAL OR BIOPSY needed. Criminals. Stay away.
