This is a lovely little restaurant. The mussles were quite salty but perfectly cooked. We shared a Greek sampler that was mostly bread. Rather disappointing. Staff and other diners were welcoming and friendly.

Dined here March 3 2018. Loved everything about it. The sauce with the clams was sublime, the clams sweet and perfectly cooked. Our entrees were fiercely flavorful, served hot, mine had so many shrimp I took half of them and all the creamy pasta home for lunch next day. The Reisling wine was cold crisp and slightly tart with a touch of apple sweetness. Dessert was a large wedge of chocolate layer cake, ultra yummy. Even the decaf coffee tasted royal. Service was outstanding, attentive but never intrusive.

Excellent food with a wonderful atmosphere! The green chili cheese bread and olive bread are to die for. I had the mussels, which came in a wonderful garlic broth, and served with a toasted cheese bread that was out of this world.

Silver City has an unusual policy that I only discovered when I found it on another restaurant's menu. "You pay for what you order."
But my first encounter with this policy, unwritten at Diane's, occurred when I asked to try their riesling; she brought a glass. Although this seemed unusual, I went ahead and tasted it. (I'm accustomed to being shown the bottle, given the cork to test for freshness and offered a taste, all before agreeing to purchase.) When I sent it back I assumed it'd be taken off the bill.
Preparing to depart, I asked the waitress why it was on the tab. She somewhat belligerently replied, "Well, we can't put it back in the bottle!" and asked if I'd like to speak to the manager. The manager immediately assumed a confrontational 'ttude, but acquiesced. But her feelings were CLEARLY felt in her manner of delivering the adjusted bill -- from which she'd deducted only the price of the wine, but not the tax.
Their meat, touted on the menu as being hand-cut from the finest available, was (I had the rib-eye) was no better than Safeway's "Choice."
The blob of mashed potatoes were tasty and she, my partner, thought her chicken penne good. The four asparagus that came with the meat and potatoes were good too.
But all-in-all, a less than satisfactory experience. We dined 5/11/18.
