The Ranchers Steak and Seafood Restaraunt

I go every time I’m in Ruidoso which is a lot. In particular their French Onion Soup is beyond delicious and their salads are fresh fresh fresh. (Chicken fried steak and all other entrees great too.) I’ve been there 5 times in last year and always had the best service. Fabian in the bar area was a great host and made a great martini! -Riki

Service was about the only thing worthwhile. The steak I ordered was overpriced and not cooked well at all. I ordered it medium rare and it was charred on the outside and was still bloody on the inside. Smelled and tasted like burned popcorn. My wife ordered the Alaskan salmon and even though she said it had good flavor, it was way overcooked. Extremely overpriced food for the quality they put out. Would not be going back any time soon unless they can hire someone that knows how to properly cook food.

Before I went to this place I looked at the reviews and they said it was a really good steak house. When we got there we were seated immediately however our waiter was taking forever for everything. You're supposed to get bread at the beginning of your meal and we were never served any until the end but not without me asking for it. The steaks we ordered did not come cooked the way we asked and the salad did not have good flavor either. There were a couple ladies sitting next to us and they sent their food back 3 times because they ask for their steak to be cooked medium rare and it kept coming back well done. I ordered two medium rare steaks and one of them was extremely rare and the other one was well done. I don't foresee myself going back to this place. If I wasn't so tired and exhausted from the day I would have mentioned something. It's never fun paying a pricey bill when the food isn't good.

I'd stay away from this place. Worst ribeye I've ever had. I ordered it medium with a loaded potato. It came out half burned, will done, with French fries. My wife ordered the same and he's looked rare. We ended up taking but neither steak tasted good. My son ordered the grilled cheese in Texas toast and it looked like a hot dog buns with cheese in it. The calamari was pretty good and the service in general was good.

Please read the reviews, me and my wife went Valentine’s Day weekend for our anniversary, this place looked and sounded best, 1. Dr Pepper was flat both times it came out. 2. I ordered ribeye medium rare with mashed potatoes + brown gravy, the steak was crisp black burned on 1 side and the middle was barely pink almost well done, absolutely no flavor at all, the potatoes we not half bad. 3 my wife ordered fettuccine alfreado with shrimp, $7 for 4 pieces of shrimp. The noodles were still hard and raw, the sauce had no flavor at all either. I finished my steak because I paid $32 for it, everything else sat hardly touched, left to get dominoes right after. Please head my advice people
