Don Moncho Caribbean Tex-Mex Restaurant

Walked in handicapped entrance and as we passed by three ladies sitting at the bar one of them said for us to go pick our table and she be over soon with menus. She came with the menus and wanted drink orders. She couldn't wait a minute for my wife and I to decide so she said she would go get our friends drink. She brought his out and we ordered ours. Then we all ordered dinner. The chicken nachos are excellent, the chipotles burger with guacamole would have tasted better without the bland flop of guacamole, and the pork belly dinner won't be ordered again. After dessert, which has changed since our last visit wrong got our checks. Waitress kept checking to see if we were ready to pay. Finally we paid so she would stop peeking around to see. Couldn't enjoy a few minutes after eating to chat. And by the way we were one of only three tables there. Service and food was disappointing this time!

Food and portions were fair and child-like. Pineapple shrimp was excellent. Service was slow and forgot parts of the order. The river view from the restaurant was gorgeous! The bald eagle seen fishing was an amazing sight! Best part of the experience.

Don Moncho in Fredericksburg I wanted to have the rehearsal dinner for my son and daughter in-law. I guess about a month back we had dinner there, service was good food was good also, so I made reservations for this place. The reservation was for 32 people well known in advance. The evening was a disaster we waited for over an hour for drinks and longer for food. We spoke with the manager who stated that two of his servers called out. Did he try to help Samantha, NO, the poor girl was left to take care of my group with the help of a new girl. The young ladies were awesome trying to keep up with everyone. Some of my group had to take their food home as it was over two hours late. POOR PLANING ON THIS MANAGERS PART!!!! VERY POOR!!!!

Love their salsa. Had a great time. Inventive drink options and nice to find a place serving jerk chicken. Not as spicy as I would have liked but perfect for the majority of customers I would guess. We will definitely be back.

Very nice little restaurant down along the river. Had the fish tacos and they were great. Jose the owner always has time to chat with you which is great.
