Jamaica House Restaurant

My wife and I drove all the way from Washington DC because we were told the food was good. We arrive at 745 15 minutes before closing and the doors were locked plus the staff were wiping down. Why have a closing time if you are not going to honor it. Just lost two potential customers.

Perfectly priced and the food is good. I love the oxtails but the stewed chicken is the best I've ever had. There is always a wait here but it's worth it!

The Ox tail is delicious and worthwhile however they never answer the phone and it’s hard to find a place to sit. It’s very small and usually sees a medium crowd. The wait times are reasonable. However, the customer service is lacking but if you’re going to take your food to go and don’t care about service, then you’ll enjoy your experience.

We went there for the first time and the food was amazing. I ordered the curry goat and it was delicious. The goat was perfectly seasoned and the meat just slid off the bone. I have gone to so many other places where the foods were overly spiced. I haven't had such authentic Jamaican food in a long time. I also almost gave 4 stars for the not so pleasant employee at the register, but the gentleman, who I think is the owner or manager, made sure that everything was taken care of.

Large jerk chicken with coco bread is amazing (and my favorite thing on the menu)!!! I have also tried the oxtail and curry chicken they are both great. Try their fresh made limeade or fruit punch both are super sweet and tangy! To go has always been ready fast even when they're busy. Friendly staff and great food!!!
