Eastgate Optical

I have a nice pair of sunglasses that I love. I had LASIK and no longer needed the prescription lenses. I stopped at Eastgate and they were able to switch out my lenses for the originals and it took less than 5 minutes and they didn't charge me anything. I really appreciate the friendliness and quick service.

Eastgate optical has a fantastic doctor who is knowledgeable and wonderful personality. He does great work to ensure you are seeing well on the way out the door. However that is where the pleasure ends. The staff have made multiple errors on billing and failure to disclose costs prior to rendering services, changing their “standard” eye scan from a $35 procedure to $115 without disclosing the change. One would not expect additional cost year to year, especially since the test is exactly the same and only done as an additional review by the computer. When asked about additional cost they were unwavering and unapologetic. I basically asked them to waive the fee as i didn’t ask for the additional scan and i would pay the $35 for the remaining scans as in previous years. I told them that if they say no, i would pay the bill and then take my business elsewhere. They chose to hold strong, as is their right, so i have pulled my business, which is myself and 3 family members, as is my right. The products are good but very pricey.

First time visit..This was the best exam I have ever had. Appointment was prompt, thorough and professional.

Dr. Winbigler is so great at what he does! His office staff are all really great too! I've been going to him for several years. He has really been helpful after some negative experiences with other optometrists in the area. It's always great to go see him.

Been to several other doctors with just okay results. They diagnosed my astigmatism when no one else did. They also helped work with my insurance to make sure they would give me the best lenses. The ladies at the front, ladies in the back, and Dr. Winbigler are amazing and have restored my faith in this profession! This is the first time I've had perfect vision in my whole life, I never thought it was possible.
