Nifty loaner pamphlets. Very environmentally friendly. I liked how the bathrooms were outside the building. Saw some bunnies. Cool holes around the visitor center. You can also get a stamp passport. Nice stop.

This is one of the best kept secrets of our National Parks. El Morro is an hour drive SE of Gallup, NM. Its a beautiful drive through red rock country. The hike to the top of the mountain to see the pueblo is worth the climb! Make sure you have a camera ready to photograph the large amount of wall art on your stroll on the easy path around the base of the mountain. It is paved so there is wheelchair access. There will be one area that has an incline but you can still see the inscriptions from the ground. To be able to see early Native American petroglyphs, Spanish travelers inscriptions, Santa Fe Railroad workers names, and US Calvary names and dates all in one area is worth the trip! I would suggest you wear a hat, hiking shoes if you are going to climb to the top, water and binoculars to see the top portions of the inscriptions. There is no fee to enter this park and there is a camping area. Enjoy!

Very nice! Friendly staff, informative displays, and a place where people have been coming and stopping for over 400 years. You can take a half mile easy walk to the pool and to see all the signatures in the rock, or do the whole 2 mile loop to see the ruins of a Zuni ancestral pueblo from around 1250-1400 AD on the top. Highly recommended.

Very nice national monument, the rangers and very friendly and will tell you a little bit about your options to hike and the history of the area. There is a self guided your that you can take up to the astina ruins s at the top of the hill. Also, there is a free campground at the monument with good looking spots for tent camping and a few spots big enough for a small rv. Pit toilets and water was available at the campground, and there was at least 1 handicap accessible spot.

Fun place for the kids. My daughter really liked it. A little bit of a drive from Albuquerque. Lots of walking.
