Easy to find, parking lot is gravel with signs where the excavation is. We hiked the trail for a couple of miles and found nothing. On our way back we discovered an old excavation with nothing to see. Not well marked, needs a lot of improvement. I would not go to this site again. Poor experience.

Great quite place out of the way. Look for foot prints from the past. Enjoy the views.

Great place to see some very ancient fossils and go hiking. You can hike on the ridge and take in the sights of the surrounding mountains and you can hike up the arroyo and see fossils along the way. There are also guided tours certain week-ends. It is best to go on a tour if that is your first visit.

Very cool place, couldn't find the tracks but found various fossils just looking on the grounds.

Nice place to hike and see some fossils and animal/insect tracks, including bivavle and crinoid fossils and dimetrodon tracks. The better examples have all been removed and taken to the repository in Albuquerque, which unfortunately was necessary to prevent vandalism and theft. Stay out of the mine in the middle. It wasn't constructed with the best safety practices. There are also marked trails for 4x4. Don't forget to take water.
