This was my "playground" frowning up as a young girl, back when the original visitor center was still open. My Grandparents were some of the few people that lived in Gran Quivira at that time and my family loved visiting these ruins. There is so my amazing history here.

This treasure of antiquity is such a hidden gem! In the absolute middle of nowhere, Gran Quivira over -delivers in its captivating ruins and history. Not an easy place to get to, but so worth it!

I love the amazing ruins in this area. Gran Quivira is just far enough away from Albuquerque to not have the crowds of people that some other parks usually have. We spent an hour talking with the ranger and were the only other people there. So interesting to hear the history of this area. There is a good walking path up the hill to the ruins and its very well kept. Great place!

Excellent experience. . My second motorcycle ride there..took friends this time.. Rangers r excellent source of information. . Highly recommend this and other cites.. NM has it all...
