Everyone who comes and visits Empire beauty school should already have the mindset that you are walking into a school full of learning student and yes you are a practice guest. If you believe that you deserve a high end hair style please visit a high end hair salon not a school.this is somewhere to go when you are on a budget or just want to do good things for students. Be mindful that you are walking into a school not a salon.

Came in optimistic for a last min weave installation. While the girls there are very nice, the staff was rude nonetheless. They are only out for the money as the girls slave for tips, they get no retribution for their work as they are learning while paying thousands for loans. Do not waste your money here. It's better to go to a regular salon.

I went to Empire Beauty School for a wash, blow dry and trim. The "stylist" did not wash my hair properly as it was still dirty, she did not trim my entire head and when she flat ironed my hair to trim it, my hair smelled like burnt curling irons. If the teachers monitor the students/stylist more maybe things like what I've listed wouldn't occur. I will not return.

I think their services are very professional. My hair is not always to my liking, however I commend the staff for trying and learning at the same time

If I could give no stars at all, that would better reflect my opinion of the experience that I had today with Empire.
I called yesterday to try and set up an appointment, and was told that Empire only does walk ins. I arrived at 9:30 this morning, and was surprised to see that there was already a line of people waiting. I signed in and proceeded to wait...and wait...and wait. After nearly two hours had gone by (during which time I saw several "stylists" sitting around in the salon chairs and/or talking on their phones), I was finally told they were ready for me. No sooner had I sat down in a chair when the receptionist came up to me (I did feel bad for her, she was clearly embarrassed) and said that another client who had signed in earlier then left had returned and they were going to take her first. After waiting in the building for TWO HOURS I was essentially kicked out for someone who had simply signed in and come back. Obviously, I left after such a terrible experience and was pleased to spend my money at a far superior salon that was horrified when I told them about the lack of professionalism I had just encountered.
Don't waste your time, or your money.
