When we travel through LA we always try to stop here for a few days to  enjoy the park and surrounding wildlife areas. It is a well maintained park that has a nice playground for children, hiking trails, a fishing pier, boat launch, camping, and clean facilities. There is even a Museum on the property.

Was an awesome time. Had the boat out and the family. Had a great memorial weekend. Well worth the visit.

Beautiful state park on the tchefuncte river.  Madisonville is a beautiful old town with lots of things to do. Restaurants on the river, boat riding, walking trails. Recommended for whole family.

Stayed here in July 2017. Was Louisiana HOT but lots of shade. Dump station was easy to use. Sites are paved and level with lots of room in between them, at least on the front side. The river side seemed a bit cramped to me. The bathrooms were private and the laundry rooms were well kept. A bit pricy but overall a good value.

Very well kept. The Only Reason I did not the Five Stars is Because there were quite a few areas that low-lying and water was standing and some of the campsites. Other than that it was a good time there.
