Fairway Market 74th Street

I LOVE to Shop at Fairway Market as there's always great selection of fresh food. Olives department is the BEST, offers assortment of varieties & so is Cheese department where i always find French Feta cheese - absolutely Delicious ! 3 clean restrooms. Diversity of employees helpful. Fairway Market is the BEST BUSINESS MODEL !! P.S. WARNING ! This Olives should be banned & illegal as there's no treatment existing from addiction !!!

It is an amazing supermarket with a large selction of produce and products. Well stocked, fantastic location, and excellent customer service. It is one of my favorite supermarkets. Love the pastries and not to mention the prepared food-it tastes delicious. I simply love to shop groceries and so much more in this place

I shop their often and especially like their prepared foods, both hot and cold. With two full time Suchi chefs, the fresh Suchi counter is also a delight. Their enormous fresh meats and seafood counter, each at least 20 feet long, have the highest quality. Upstairs there is a restaurant and a large organic foods section. Unfortunately, they have gotten more and more expensive in recent years.

At a recent house-warming the topic of favorite supermarkets came up. The consensus was that Fairway is the Key-Food of the ignorant because at those prices you have to be uninformed to shop there for just a slightly marginal improvement in your experience. I wouldn't be that harsh as I generally like the layout and the selection. My go to items are usually olive oil and teas. Certain items you do not purchase at Fairway or Whole Foods unless they are on sale. And by sale I am looking for nothing less than a 50% discount. As a rule nothing from the sea, supplements or fruits. Case in point - Lychee recently was $6.99 per lb in Fairway. At my neighborhood store on Ave U it was $1.99. Granted rents may be greater where Fairway's are located but $5 per lb more. I'll pass. Overall I like Fairway glad to see they remain open inspite of their recent economic travails, the staff has always being helpful and my only recommendation is, be very selective in what you purchase as you could be gouged. And who needs that?

fairway is the joint for fresh ingredients, excellent cheese counter, possibly nyc's best whole bean coffee selection, deli counter, top notch butcher with prime aged meats, and a decent selection of basics. also specialty foods including spices from every cuisine as well as a good gluten free section.
