Fitworks - White Oak

Lost 2 pounds in just 1.5 weeks! Everyone is welcoming and positive. They want to see you succeed. Staff provides excellent help and taught me how to use different equipment. They have everything you need for personal workouts, including equipment and encouragement. Personal training sessions are amazing whether you are just starting out or if your really looking to channel in on your goals. I've only been a member for about 2 weeks and I am already seeing results on the scale from different training workouts and nutrition advice. The nicest people work here.

Not my "home" gym and decided to get a workout in while my wife ran errands. This location is much smaller than the three others I've used. There are fewer machines, cardio equipment and weights AND the place smelled of mold. Weights weren't re-racked and the staff was invisible basically. I won't be using this Fitworks again.

I'm finally taking the time to write about this location because I am fed up with one particular issue. It is summertime in Cincinnati and the A/C does not work consistently in the gym. I have mentioned this to manager and personal trainers who always seem to blame it on something else. It's either being worked on, or missing a part, or just broken today... all excuses. I have been a member here for ~9months and I don't know if I'll renew my membership when it is up due to this reason. This might not seem like a big deal but when the humidity and heat cause heat-rash and headaches you know it is getting ridiculous. Ironically enough, the room that typically houses the classes always has working A/C. The temperature is typically in the low 80's and humid due to only a few large fans blowing air in 2 or 3 directions. I had been a member at LA Fitness for 5+ years and never had an issue with temperature. I don't know if there is something the staff can do, or if it is on building management but it really needs to be fixed properly. Speaking of fixed properly there are several spots in the parking lot where the concrete has been badly damaged to the point where metal rebar & mesh is now starting to show. Not only is this unsightly but it could lead to damage of cars or motorcycles trying to find a parking space. With that said, there are things about the gym that I like (which keep me there at least to the end of my yearly membership). Despite it not being very new, the equipment is typically clean and in good working condition. The staff is very friendly and seems to always have a positive demeanor. There is just enough equipment to get a good full body workout, though a few more specialty items could be added if they find room. Though I don't typically watch them the TV's around the gym are nice (but they don't have CC turned on). A second water fountain or a water bottle filling station would help with the congestion near the locker rooms. I wonder how quickly these things will be tended to? IF they are, I will update my review. -9/6/2017- UPDATE After spending more time thinking over my previous review it seems I may have scored the gym a little harshly based on conditions they don't have control over (building management issue). They seem to have taken it to heart though as there are more fans and membership seems to be climbing steadily. Still a little warmer than I'd like though, hopefully the corporate office can lean on building management to get that sorted out. -10/10/17-
