Free State Brewing Company

We had a small family gathering and requested a room quiet enough for conversation. We had an excellent experience. The food and the service were impeccable. As a vegetarian i was thrilled to see so many great options. Prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality. I highly recommend this as a great restaurant. I heard from others that the wheat beer was tasty, also.

A Lawrence classic, Free State Brewery never disappoints. The food is consistently good with interesting seasonal specials and remarkably low prices. The beers, well you won't find better and they have a brew for every taste. This is a noisy place and always busy during lunch and dinner. It's definitely worth waiting in line. If loud restaurants bother you, try gong at an off-peak time or ask to sit in the back room. It's not quiet, but it's definitely lower- key. I personally dislike crowded, loud places, but Free State is good enough to overcome that inclination. Highly recommended.

Free State is just... so good, y'all. They're a little pricey but the food is always top-notch, service is reasonably fast considering how busy it usually is, all the waitstaff are really nice friendly people... it's a good time, is what I'm saying. Get the onion rings, you won't regret it.

College town busy atmosphere. Amazing beer, I recommend the Yakimaniac, but everything there is good. Food would be good enough to keep the place going without the beer. Cool building in historic Lawrence... must visit if in town.

I absolutely love this place. We go there every time we go to Lawrence. what’s not to love burgers and mass street! I always get the burger. My boyfriend usually get the special! I love their homemade house made lemonade with a splash of ice tea!
