Merchants Pub and Plate

Loved it loved it loved it! Went for the first time 2 nights ago, the lively atmosphere was friendly and energizing, our server Becky was wonderful and told us about the business model of supporting local farms who bring their fresh produce and meat and eggs in, and how the employees go on field trips to the farms to learn about them. I had the goat stew which was fabulous. Extensive and diverse beer selection too -- tried an amazing IPA called Twisted Logik from the Defiance Brewery in Hays, KS. So good I had another since my daughter was driving. Sat on the third floor right in the middle of the railing with a great view of the Friday night bustle.

I've had better and worse times here. I avoid the food because it never tastes quite right. It's always some strange combination of flavors that's attempting to be inventive but more often, misses the mark. The beer selection is good and the atmosphere is pleasant. I really like the outside seating.

Amazing food. The server took the time to explain the menu to us, and described where the locally grown ingredients came from. Totally worth the price. If you are into nice older architecture you will love the ambiance!

Had the Rabbit dumplings and the Coffee Creme Brulee, and it's the only thing I've been able to think about for days. You will not be disappointed at all! Very friendly and welcoming staff, sinfully good food, and the most heavenly beer selection in the area. If the Ugly Pug is available; I strongly recommend that if you like a dark full bodied beer. Seriously, you should be on your way to Merchants now!

Just finished up my son's graduation celebration dinner with a large group of family and friends. Our server Ryan was excellent and the food, superb. A very diverse menu, but all seem to agree that the Bison burger is a standout favorite. Put this place on your list.
