Garcia's Famous Mexican Food

I went in tonight with my sister, we ordered the Surf and Turf fajitas for 2 which was $32. I have no problem paying good money for food as long as it is worth it, but for $32 we got 7 shrimp and 8 small chunks of steak with a giant mound of onions and bell peppers. I'm not one to send things back, and it did taste good. The portion of meat for a 2 person meal, was the same you would receive at any other Mexican restaurant. The service was good, but the food was no where near worth the prices. It was my first time going and most likely my last.

I always enjoy the food at Garcia's. There are several dishes that I particularly like. Their drinks are excellent and they do not skimp on the alcohol. The service staff are very attentive even when the restsaurant is crowded. They always make you feel like you are their only table. Good good and great service...makes this a "go to" restaurant.

I want to address being labeled as having an attitude or being rude by Jacquelyn Overton. You know what is RUDE? .. walking into a very busy restaurant to pick up a take out order while talking on your cell phone, and not being courteous enough to excuse yourself from the conversation. Also, RUDE is attempting to pay for an $80 take out by asking for $5 of the bill to be charged on your credit card and the rest to be charged to some other card that didn't have your name on it, which is fraud by the way. Then, getting offended when you were told that our policy does not allow us to process a credit card payment without the owner of the card being present. So instead of just putting the charge on your card to figure it out later with whomever's card you had, you got angry because you had to call them to come to pay for the take out order when the policy was explained on the phone to whomever in your office was placing the order. Lastly, what else is RUDE is how you signed your credit card slip with "Go to hell B*tch" - really classy Ms. Overton - Garcia's does not need customers like you.

Garcia's is our favorite Mexican food on the NorthShore, I grew up in Texas so it's hard to find a place that compares with the Tex-Mex available. Garcia's delivers steadily and the staff is super nice. Will always recommend to someone looking for good Mexican food

Great atmosphere, fresh options, good service, and the kids love it. Our new favorite Mexican joint.
