I’m originally from New Orleans and have always wanted to eat here, but it just never happened. I really wanted to make a point this trip. It was Jazz Fest weekend so it was crazy busy. We shopped at the Frenchmen Artists Market while we waited for our table. We sat at a table in the candy shop area which was really perfect. Earnest was our server and was WONDERFUL. I had a frozen Hurricane which was yummy and really hit the spot from the heat all day. I ordered the red beans for dinner and Earnest suggested the collard green. My husband had the Taste of Soul platter. Earnest also suggested the candied yams when we inquired about any other yummy sides. I was hesitant but he insisted I’d love them - and he was right!! Not only did they give us a ridiculous amount of food, everything was deelish! My husband especially loved the ribs (and he’s very particular about his ribs)! Warning to you about the bread pudding. It’s SPECTACULAR but it also has quite a bit of rum, which is not listed on the menu. Some people sensitive to alcohol, or a recovering alcoholic should beware! Since my husband didn’t have bread pudding, he tried the pecan clusters and dark chocolate bark. I tried some the next day. And. Oh. My. Goodness!! We were both happy that these are NOT readily accessible to us back home. That chocolate caramel nut bark ——>>>>PHENOMENAL!! I have already recommended this restaurant. We will DEFINITELY be back!!

The highest compliment I can give is that the bread pudding tasted like my Nana was in the kitchen! Generous portions, exemplary service. If Queen is your server, your life will have been gotten. If you are blessed enough to be in the NO, get thee HERE!!

Me and a group of friends from San Antonio, TX were visiting Nola for the weekend and we stumbled across this place on our way to Frenchman street. I’d really like to know where these people giving this place 4 stars and above are from. The staff there was really nice and that’s about it. We were trying to find some legit Cajun food, this was probably the worst pick and I hope nobody judges New Orleans Cajun food based on this place. Everything tasted bland and basically out of a can. If this is considered good food in Nola then I’ll stick to Popeyes 👍🏼

Being a vegetarian is difficult in New Orleans, but I had their beans and rice, and even though it sounds simple, it's yummy and filling. It's on a corner with a lot of other attractions, so I definitely recommend eating here then walking your meal off. We had fast service with friendly and attentive staff. Their bread pudding is to die for. Try it!
